Compactifications of Topological Spaces
Abstract. Given a locally compact, Hausdorff space, there are
several ways to compactify it. We examine two of these compactifications
-- the one-point compactification and the Stone-Cech compactification --
and give conditions which guarantee that they are different. We also give
new examples of topological spaces for which the two are the same.
