Quantifying Chaos in Dynamical Systems with Lyapunov Exponents
Abstract. In this paper, we analyze the dynamics of a four dimensional
mechanical system which exhibits sensitive dependence on initial conditions.
The aim of the paper is to introduce the basic ideas of chaos thoery while
assuming only a course in ordinary differential equations as a prerequisite.
