The Method Proposition 2 Prelude | |
In order to facilitate the reading of Proposition 2 of The Method note that: (1) Two weights balance about the fulcrum of a balance beam at distances reciprocally proportional to their magnitudes; (2) The volume of a cone is one-third the volume of the cylinder with the same base and equal height; (3) If the dimensions of a cone are doubled then its volume is increased by a factor of eight. |
