General information

SERMON is a small, friendly and informal gathering of number theorists and combinatorialists. Faculty, graduate and undergraduate students are all invited to attend, and to give talks if they wish. Talks will be 20 minutes in length.

There will be partial travel support for students travelling to SERMON; this support is provided by the Number Theory Foundation.

As a prelude to SERMON, there will be a colloquium talk by Bruce Berndt of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign at 4:00 on Friday, March 17 in 106 Riley Hall.

After the colloquium we will be taking Professor Berndt to dinner, and all are invited to meet us there; if you are arriving on Friday night after the colloquium, feel free to drop in. We will be at Chicora Alley, a restaurant/bar located at 608 S Main Street (Mapquest) in downtown Greenville (864-232-4100) beginning at 6:00. The restaurant is right across the street from Falls Park, which is worth a visit. I will have directions to the restaurant at the colloquium.

Conference events will be held in 101 Johns Hall, which is building #14 on the campus map. The schedule for the conference is as follows:

Saturday, March 18: refreshments beginning at 8:30am, talks and problem session from 9:00 to 5:00 with a break for lunch, social beginning at 5:30 at the home of Bob and Mickey Fray

Sunday, March 19: refreshments beginning at 8:30am, talks in the morning beginning at 9:00 (ending time will depend on the number of talks)
